We supply two types of flooring, solid wood and veneer.

Solid wood is as you would expect solid throughout, it comes in 12-14mm thick (non structual) or 19-22mm (structual)

Structual can be laid directly to joists where as non structual is laid over existing floor boards or similar finish.

Solid wood flooring comes in single random length strips of various widths, which gives the floor a non uniform look, as shown in these clubhouse bar pictures and the before and after pictures at the bottom of this page.

Veneered flooring is solid timber with a plywood core.

This is modern wood flooring, made in traditional strip and plank design. The real wood surface is ready sealed and flat, with no gaps between the planks.

The core is multi-cross plywood for ecological, warmth retention, and stability reasons.

A finished floor for ease and speed of laying. It is a floor for life !

The hardwoods used come from carefully managed abundant forests in central Europe and North America. Exotic woods like Merbau and Bamboo (we do not provide Mahogany) come from the Far East.

The plywood core is made from wood which would otherwise have been wasted, it will last a lifetime without being several inches thick.

The lacquer applied to the real wood surface on modern wood flooring is what gives it its extra hardness and durability.

Natural wood in a room provides a relaxing environment and is a constant reminder of the beauty of nature.

Real wood flooring is very practical, easy to clean, no polishing is required, dust will not adhere to it and it wipes clean in seconds with a damp cloth. Less time cleaning !

Real wood flooring is much healthier than carpets, no dust sticks to the surface as in carpets, it is a bonus to asthma sufferers. Water and dirt brought in daily by shoes trampling over carpets is easily and quickly wiped totally clean by a simple dry or damp cloth. Dirt does not become embedded in the floor, house-mites, who are known to love carpets for the damp dirty environment, will not survive or find anywhere to live in this flooring !

Musty smells from wet damp carpets which have absorbed the odours of food, tobacco etc.. will be a thing of the past, so you can leave your air freshener in the bathroom !

If all the above benefits are not enough to convince you, the sheer stunning beauty of these wood floors will.

The immediate effect, once a wood floor is laid, is to make your rooms look and feel much bigger.

The natural wood shades, with natural wood grain and markings are decor in themselves. You will have a unique floor, as no two trees or floors can look the same. Natural colours, which cannot go out of fashion, from the oldest material know to man.

Wood is unique as a suitable flooring for all environments as it goes with all other decors. It does not matter what colour furniture or walls you have, it will enhance any other types of wood furniture you have in the room as well.

It is purely a matter of personal preference which variety of wood is selected. The effect of using a single variety of wood throughout an entire ground floor area will add continuity and spaciousness to the entire area.

The effect of putting lighter woods, such as Maple, in upstairs rooms or dark rooms will brighten them at once.

The planks of a wood floor usually lie in the direction of the incoming light source i.e.. towards windows. The light then travels the length of the plank and shows the wood off to its best aspect.

We can supply prices for unfinished solid wood flooring upon request. We can also provide quotations for installation only, if you have already purchased your floor elsewhere.

[Due to recent demand we can now supply and fit a comprehensive range of laminate flooring]
